You may have felt it.
A sense that there must be more to life
than the part you’ve been taught to see.
Perhaps you’ve followed that feeling
into books, workshops, and practices of your own.
Perhaps you’ve never known what to call it—
much less where to look.
And yet.
There’s still that hollow feeling
in the pit of your stomach—
a void you can never quite seem to fill.
Did you ever stay busy all week,
taking care of everything except the life you long to live—
then wonder:
“How did the week just disappear?”
Or have you ever felt like a spectator
of your own life?
Or heard someone share
what makes them come alive—
and nearly died of envy,
wishing you could feel that way?
You have people who love you.
Work you care about.
Meaningful experiences.
You are well aware how much you have.
So why can’t you just feel grateful—
not guilty for craving more?
Even worse, who can you talk to about it
when you can’t even put your finger on what’s missing?
And even if you could—
who would understand?
Perhaps you’ve tried—
yet wished you hadn’t
once you saw the look on their face.
You wish you had more than a feeling
you struggle to explain.
You want to experience something REAL—
something that reaches beyond another idea,
another fragment,
another theory of what life could mean.
But where do you even begin?
Before I show you the path that begins here,
let me tell you the story behind this temple—
and why it matters to the search that brought you to its door.
My name is Leslie McQuade.
I’m Chief Adept of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.
I’m also an anthropologist and archaeologist.
What draws me to these ancient traditions
is a question that reaches into our lives today:
What might we discover about ourselves
if we learned to experience more
than we ordinarily notice?
